~  HAT-MAKING FUN  ~

Tutor: Lorraine Marter.

Course content: Making a fun hat for that Melbourne cup lunch (Everyone's hat will be different).

Venue: Chaffey Community Centre, 19th Street, Renmark.

Course starts: Wednesday 21st of October.

Course Duration: 1 day workshop.

Time: 10am - 3pm.

Number of students per session: 8 max.

Student Prerequisites: Membership of U3A Riverland. A hat from Cheap as Chips or the Opp shop. The bigger brim the more we can do with it. Scissors; Pins; A pair of white cotton gloves for working with the hot glue guns;  A bottle of water, and lunch.

The Community centre has sewing machines you can use. If you want to bring your own it must be tested and tagged.

Tutor will supply: Hat blocks for reshaping, and head dummies for working on. My own sewing machine. Hot glue guns and glue sticks. Lots of coloured threads. Hat combs. Hats for sale at $5 each for remodeling. Lots of trims and feathers (no charge).
